Been in a slump with the slow season. Doing culture cleaning for new liquid cultures. Also update on the large scale test....it bombed. Used techniques not applicable to the strain I was growing, mainly to much substrate and not enough nitrogen source. I was hoping to just be giving people mushrooms after their appointments by now! New attempts in the works.

Been having a really hard time justifying posting my work on social media for a while now.

as a parent and a human, using my platform to amplify awareness seems much more deserving with the horrible things happen.

posting my art without some statement seems like business as usual, and i wont take part in the normalization.

But i want my clients and potential clients to know I'm still here. I still love doing what i do, putting cool art on people to help them express themselves.

If you have been thinking of getting tattooed hit me up. i got plenty of time available.

I can no longer allow my inaction to be viewed as complacency for the horrors that are consuming our lives..

So here's what's up. I know my Halloween flash is a little late but spooky season is forever as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure those that are interested think the same.

I'll be putting on a fundraiser over the next 3 months in support of the people of Palestine, specifically the children, that are still being outright murdered in the ongoing genocide by the current US administration and Israeli government.

Ill be running the fundraiser at a heavy reduced hourly rate of $60 an hour. Half of the proceeds for The Halloween designs will be donated while 100% of the Palestinian designs will be donated.

biggest thing I want to have is transparency so I’ll be posting the receipts from the business to Aid Programs so everyone can see the progress and that the money is going where it should be, currently I'm looking at the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), as well as the Gaza Sunbirds.

The pieces are meant to be larger (13 inches and up) and will likely be multiple session as i usually finish a piece in 3 sessions, the last being a quick touch up, totaling about 10 hours. I would very much like to do these in full color but Black & Grey will be considered. smaller pieces will be repeating flash for people to scoop up at $50 each.

ill have more designs rolling out over the course of the fundraiser so stay tuned on the updates.

I very much want to keep the fundraiser as a continuing project as so many places need our support. Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Nigeria and even the US, So many places where we are failing as humans.

If other artist are looking to help I'd love to pool our smaller flash together in a concerted effort for change.

Its time to stand up, speak out and move towards a better future. I hope to hear from you soon.

Heyhey!! I haven't really had a chance to show off the pasteurization/boiler setup I built for the mushroom business I’ve been slowly growing. Everything from the wiring and controller to the custom boiler compartment was built from scratch. Huge shout out to D&S Sheet metal for the fabrication work, @der_bear_64 for the electrical advice and the support from my fam!

This project has meant a lot to me. It is an investment on the part of the people that come to me to get tattooed and trust me with their skin. The money I earn from tattooing doesn’t just disappear into a void, it goes into building something that I hope will be special, something that I really want to have give back to those that helped support. My goal with this mushroom farm is to serve the community not just through art, but through food, wellness, and sustainability, especially as things are getting more chaotic and uncertain, specifically pertaining to food security.

First bulk mushroom test wave 1 month In.

Trying my damnedest not to break up the bags mid inoculation to disperse the mycelium throughout the block which decreases mycelium running time but increases labor. Broke up the first batch on the top shelf to clock colonization time.

This wave should produce 70 to 80 pounds of king oyster mushrooms, which I can't eat by myself..... So if you're interested in scooping some up please let me know!!!!

Update on my rough and shoty electrical craftsmanship.

If you’ve talked to me at all about mushrooms over the past couple years, you’ve probably heard me rant about needing to build an atmospheric steam pasteurizer ad nauseam. Well… we’re Almost there!!! and by “almost,” I mean I’ve entered the “wiring things together and hoping not to be electrocuted” phase.

I’ve been learning how to build a PID controller (Proportional-Integral-Derivative), and after a month of deep dives, watching the same video over and over again and several mild panic attacks, I’ve finally started putting it all together. It’s basically a very fancy temperature controller that will keep the pasteurizer dialed in and running smoothly, that is…once I finish wiring up the rest of the circuit without catching on fire.

If anyone out there has advice, feedback, or a well-meaning “my dude, you are definitely about to electrocute yourself” warnings… I’m here for it...

Big thanks to everyone who’s supported the journey so far — we’re getting close to firing this thing up and taking a real step toward commercial-scale growing.
